EchoLink2 Version 2.08 Readme

EchoLink software works with Decagon's Em5/Em5R data loggers, DataStation base
station, and Rm1 telemetry system. This software allows ECH2O System users to
to configure system settings and retrieve data.

Version 2.08 fixes bugs that prevented using EchoLink with Em5 running firmware
versions before 1.86. 


Minimum Requirements
---------------------
To use the DecaLink Software utility, you must have the following:
  * Windows 95, Windows NT or better.
  * One available serial port (also works with most USB to Serial adapters).
  * Decagon-supplied SCA serial cable for direct connection to an Em5.

  * New Em5 port scan with choice of sensor units display.

  * Improved radio communications (Em5 wake, radio settings, etc.).

EchoLink with Em5 Firmware 1.80+
---------------------------------
EchoLink takes full advantage of new features in Em5 Firmware versions 1.80
and newer (these features don't apply to Em5 Firmware older than 1.80).
 
  * Improved data downloading to prevent data loss and corruption.
	
  * Faster data downloads with direct serial connection.

  * Radio Signal Strength Indicator and telemetry testing.

This EchoLink Software is owned by Decagon Devices, Incorporated. Decagon grants
to the user a nonexclusive license to use this software solely for use with
Decagon instruments. The user may not commercially distribute, sublicense,
resell, or otherwise transfer for any consideration, or reproduce for any such
purposes, the software or any modification or derivation thereof, either alone
or in conjunction with any other product or program. Further, the user may not
modify this software.
